東北新幹線は、東京と新青森を結ぶ高速鉄道路線。
E5系「はやぶさ」・E6系「こまち」は最高320km/hで運転され、日本国内で最も高い営業最高速度を誇る。
東京から大宮を経て東北地方を縦断し、仙台・盛岡などの主要都市を結んでいる。
山形新幹線E8系「つばさ」は福島で分岐して山形・新庄へ、
秋田新幹線E6系「こまち」は盛岡で分岐して秋田へ直通する。
また、新青森からは北海道新幹線へ直通し、青函トンネルを経由して新函館北斗へ乗り入れる。
東京から新青森まで約675kmに及ぶ路線距離を持ち、長距離高速輸送を担う日本を代表する新幹線路線のひとつである。
The Tohoku Shinkansen is a high-speed rail line connecting Tokyo and Shin-Aomori.
E5 Series “Hayabusa” and E6 Series “Komachi” trains operate at speeds of up to 320 km/h, the highest scheduled operating speed in Japan. The line runs north from Tokyo via Omiya, linking major cities across the Tohoku region, including Sendai and Morioka.
E8 Series “Tsubasa” trains of the Yamagata Shinkansen branch off at Fukushima and continue to Yamagata and Shinjo, while E6 Series “Komachi” trains of the Akita Shinkansen branch off at Morioka and continue to Akita.
In addition, through services operate onto the Hokkaido Shinkansen from Shin-Aomori, passing through the Seikan Tunnel and continuing to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto.
With a route length of approximately 675 km between Tokyo and Shin-Aomori, the Tohoku Shinkansen is one of Japan’s principal high-speed rail corridors, providing long-distance transportation across northern Honshu.
